It auto-expands the whole conversation first — clicking open the "N older messages" cluster and every collapsed message (whose bodies Gmail does not keep in the DOM until expanded) — then grabs every message (sender, recipients, date, attachment names, and body), strips Gmail's duplicated quoted history, and converts the HTML body to Markdown. No data leaves your browser.
